Feb 19, 2017 Hey guys, just finished the build, set the loop, and bam. The B1 memory slot does not work. Setting the Rampage Tweak Mode 1 in the DRAM Timing Control did not help. I am using the Trident Z 3200 Mhz, 32 Gb, 4 set. It took me a long while to figure out because it seems like I also got a faulty set where only 2 pieces work.

Recently one of my RAM slots was damaged(I don't know how).I am dual booting my laptop seven ultimate and ubuntu.I need to preserve my laptop for a year longer.Kindly suggest me some methods to keep my system in optimum condition.Should I continue dual booting,are there any tweaks to lessen the load of the system,etc.

Dual booting has no bearing on the computer.
Just ensure you keep all important data backed up [ off ] the machine.

Slot A and B are the identifiers of the Slots where the memory goes. ie. which memory slot is bad, the first or the second. Bump to LH simply means he passed to Lighthouse for further answers.
Are you sure it's the ram slot (rarely damaged) and not the ram itself? With just 1 memory module, How much is your ram? Windows 7's minimum requirement for memory is 1 gigabyte RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit). With Ubuntu, its just about 1 gigabyte or less depending on the edition.
I don't have much knowledge about hardware.My RAM is 4GB.My Windows 7 is using approximately 1.03 RAM.I am not sure whether it is the RAM slot or the RAM which has been damaged.Is there any method to figure out which is dead?
Are slot A and B labelled on the motherboard?

Please can you post the make and model of the laptop.
Replace the 1 ram (in the laptop) with the other ram in your laptop bag. If the laptop boots ok, then the ram's good and maybe the ram slot is really damaged.
